Returning to the court Friday night from a two-week absence, the Heritage Christian Academy boys’ basketball team held visiting North Hardin Christian to a single basket in the first quarter and would never trail on the way to a 57-35 victory.

Matt Wills reeled off 8 first-quarter points, and the Warriors led 14-2 after he knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers with just over two minutes left in the frame.  HCA’s Carlos Robles added a 3-pointer with :30 left, and the Warriors led 18-2 after one.

North Hardin’s Josh Cron got going in the second with 9 points and the Falcons trimmed the lead to 12, but HCA’s Zane Yates scored the last 6 points of the half on an and-1 and a 3-pointer for a 33-17 Warrior advantage at the break.

Weston Powell scored on a putback early in the third to push the margin to 20, and the Warriors led 44-26 with a quarter to play.

The Warriors put it on cruise control in the fourth and had their biggest lead of the game at 57-32 after back-to-back baskets in the paint by Trevor Gibson.  The final 22-point margin is the Warriors’ largest of the season.
