After pausing activities for two weeks due to COVID, the Heritage Christian Academy girls’ basketball team returned to court on Friday night and picked up its first win of the season 30-17 over visiting North Hardin Christian.
The Lady Warriors raced out to an 8-0 lead behind 5 points from Abbi Bullock, and led 11-6 after the first quarter.
HCA limited North Hardin to only 3 points in the second quarter and led 16-6 after Kinley Deason drilled a corner 3-pointer with just under six minutes left in the half. The teams combined for only 5 points over the remainder of the quarter and the Lady Warriors took a 9-point edge into the break.
HCA stretched the advantage to 23-9 before North Hardin scored its only points of the third quarter with a layup at the buzzer.
A steal and layup by Hallie Zieg midway through the fourth quarter gave HCA a 14-point lead and they weren’t threatened the rest of the way.
