After being on an extended quarantine to begin the high school basketball season, the Christian County Colonels are again pausing their season, after being able to play just four games. The announcement of the stoppage was made by Christian County Public Schools officials Wednesday morning.

In the announcement, it noted that the pause was due to a positive COVID-19 test on the Paducah Tilghman basketball team. The Colonels traveled to Paducah to take on the Blue Tornado on January 29.

In a statement, school officials say the quarantine will run through Friday, February 12. With those dates, the Colonels will lose games against University Heights, Webster County, and Owensboro Catholic. A game against Hopkinsville, that had originally been scheduled for February 9th had already been postponed due to the Tigers being under protocols.

Additionally, it was announced that the boys’ basketball team at Hopkinsville Middle School would quarantine through Wednesday, February 10 due to a positive COVID-19 test.
