Muhlenberg’s Marksmanship Buries Caldwell County 66-35

Muhlenberg County showed off its marksmanship Saturday by canning nine 3-pointers in a 66-35 thumping of Caldwell County in Greenville.

Nash Divine hit a trio of threes in the first quarter, scoring 11 points as the Mustangs jumped out to a 22-3 lead.

Muhlenberg didn’t let off the throttle as six different players scored in the second quarter to help them build a 45-13 halftime lead.

Divine scored 20 points for Muhlenberg County, whose only loss in nine starts is to Hopkinsville.

Caldwell’s 35-point output is its lowest since a 54-32 loss to Corinth, Mississippi in the 2016-17 season.

Tripp Branch hit all three of Caldwell’s 3-pointers and led the Tigers with 13 points. Jabrion Spikes added 12 points.

Caldwell County will travel to University Heights Academy Tuesday.
