2020 Kentucky girls’ state golf champion Macey Brown has committed to Indianapolis University to continue her academic and athletic career. The Apollo High School junior made the announcement on social media Saturday.
Brown won the girls’ state title in a one-hole playoff in October, becoming the first girls’ golfer from Owensboro to win the state title since 1969.
She had several top-5 finishes during the season that included wins at the Owensboro City-County Championships and a Region II individual title.
The Indianapolis University girls’ program is an NCAA Division II program that won four of the six tournaments they entered in 2020 before its season was canceled due to COVID-19.
