A pair of Caldwell County basketball players are moving up their team’s respective career scoring lists.

Senior Jacey Jaggers has risen to 13th on the Lady Tigers’ all-time scoring list and is just 12 points away from moving into the Top 10.

Jaggers has 1,284 career points.

Five more points will move her past Katie Brown and six more will push her past Emily Meeks and into 11th. Bella McConnell is 10th with 1,295 points.

Jaggers has scored 137 points this season and is averaging 15.2 points a game.

Meanwhile, senior Tripp Branch has moved up to 21st on the Tigers’ all-time scoring list with 860 points.

Branch has 198 points this season and is averaging 15.2 points a contest this season.

Branch needs 75 points to pass Dee Cain for 20th place.

With another 86 points he would pass Cayden Fraliex for 19th place.

However, neither Caldwell team has played since Saturday, Feb. 6.

Both squads had games against Hopkins County Central wiped out by the weather Tuesday. A girls’ home date Thursday against Madisonville-North Hopkins has already been called off. A boys’ home date against Hopkins Central that was set for Friday has been rescheduled for March 11.

Caldwell’s girls are scheduled to play at Union County on Friday but the weather forecast makes that date iffy.

Looking ahead to Saturday, the Lady Tigers are scheduled to play a varsity game at Hopkins County Central at 2:00 Saturday. Caldwell’s guys are scheduled to play at the Sportscenter in Owensboro on Saturday against Breckinridge County. That game is set for 11 a.m.
