Northside Baptist used a strong second quarter and a healthy advantage at the free throw line to hand Heritage Christian Academy a 73-54 loss Tuesday in Mayfield.
Northside turned a 16-13 first quarter advantage into a 45-27 lead at halftime. HCA got as close as 12 points in the third quarter but free throws kept the Warriors from getting any closer.
Northside knocked down 24 of 41 at the free throw line, while Heritage was 4 of 13. Heritage was also bothered by 19 turnovers in the contest.
HCA shot 42-percent from the field but was 2 of 12 behind the arc.
Carlos Robles led Heritage Christian with 17 points and eight rebounds. Weston Powell added 14 points and eight boards.
Northside Baptist, who picked up a 45-33 win over HCA earlier this month, was led by Nick Myskowski’s 20 points.
Heritage Christian will host Bethel Christian Thursday in a KCAA contest that will determine the seeding position for this weekend’s super regional at Bethel.
