Lyon County freshman Travis Perry says he doesn’t spend time thinking about point totals, but everyone in Jason White Gymnasium on Tuesday night knew exactly where he stood.
Entering the game with 1,998 career points, Lyon fans figured No. 2,000 would come pretty quickly.
A pair of free throws at the 5:17 mark of the first quarter enabled Perry to hit the magic mark.
He tallied 27 of his game-high 34 points in the first half and his Lyons went on to dispatch Crittenden County 86-56.
YSE spoke with Perry following the contest.
