Former Caldwell County Tiger Fonso White — and his daily 4-hour commute at Bishop Luers High School —were recently highlighted by a Fort Wayne, Indiana, television station.
White, a 1993 Caldwell County grad, and his family live in the Indianapolis area. However, White makes the two-hour trek to Fort Wayne as head coach of the Bishop Luers boys’ basketball team.
WPTA-TV in Fort Wayne recently did a feature on White and his “drive” to coach at Bishop Luers.

White is in his third season at the Fort Wayne school. The Knights went 15-7 last year and won the Summit Athletic Conference championship for the first time since 2012. OutsidetheHuddle.com chose White as the conference Coach of the Year.
After some key graduation losses from last season, Bishop Luers is 8-14 this year.
The Knights have drawn Garrett in the opening round of the Indiana Class 3A Sectional 22 tournament at Woodlan next week. That game will be played Wednesday at 6 p.m. Eastern time.
Garrett is 2-16 with two games left in the regular season.
