A 13-0 run early gave Lyon County the upper hand, and the Lady Lyons went on to rout Livingston Central 65-36 in a 5th District matchup Friday night in Eddyville.
Livingston led just once. A 3-pointer by Victoria Joiner gave the Lady Cardinals a 3-2 advantage.
However, Lyon (12-5 overall, 3-2 district) countered with 13 straight points to go up 15-3.
Livingston (4-8, 0-5) got back to within 17-10 after one quarter and was within 17-12 early in the second period.
But another big run helped Lyon take command. This time, the Lady Lyons reeled off 10 straight points to go up 27-12.
Lyon led 33-16 at halftime, then extended the margin to 51-22 through three quarters.
Calista Collins just missed a double-double for the Lady Lyons, finishing with 25 points and nine rebounds. Rose Smith added 11 points and Gracen Wynn had 10.
Lauren Wright topped Livingston with 17 points. Maggie Downey had 10.
Lyon was 21 of 43 from the field while Livingston made just nine of 38 attempts.
The Lady Lyons play another district game on Monday when they go to Trigg County.
Livingston’s next game is Tuesday at Paducah St. Mary.
