A Lyon County senior is among seven players in the state of Kentucky named to a regional “Watch List” by a national softball organization. Premier Girls Fastpitch announced their six regional watch lists earlier this week.
Lyon County’s Calista Collins was named to the Central Region list for the 2021 softball season. Collins should be a crucial piece of a Lyon County team that will be favored to win the 2nd Region All A Classic, and to contend for the 2nd Region KHSAA championship.
Collins, who lost her junior season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, helped lead Lyon County to a 26-13 record in her sophomore season in 2019. She hit .566 with 15 home runs and 54 RBIs.
Daviess County’s Abby Newman was the other player from the western part of the state named to the watch list.
