
Heritage Christian Academy will open play in the KCAA Girls’ State Basketball Tournament against Community Christian Academy of Independence. The game will be Thursday at 7:30 EST at West Jessamine Middle School.
HCA enters the tournament as the No. 5 seed in the state. HCA [2-12] lost their Super Regional matchup to Micah Christian 45-27. Micah received a No. 2 seed.
Heritage Christian was 1-1 against region opposition and 2-4 against other KCAA teams during the season.
Community Christian finished as runner-up in its Super Regional with a 64-48 loss to No. 1 Trinity Christian. They were 6-3 against KCAA opposition during the season and did not play Heritage.
A Heritage win Thursday would move them into the semifinals Saturday morning at West Jessamine High School.
