With no reasons being given at this time, it appears the search is on for a new athletic director at Christian County High School, and an interim AD has been named. In a very brief statement Friday afternoon, the Christian County Public Schools announced that Matt Baker, an assistant principal at Christian County High School had been selected to be the interim athletic director at Christian County High School.
What was not mentioned in the release is the reason for needing an interim AD. Steve Lovelace, the head football coach at Christian County High School, has been serving in that capacity.
The statement from Superintendent Chris Bentzel simply states that Baker has been selected to be the interim, with no mention of Lovelace, a reason for the change, or the status of Lovelace as the football coach.
When contacted by YourSportsEdge.Com, Bentzel would only say that the school system was looking out for athletics at Christian County High School. He would also not comment on Lovelace’s status as head football coach at this time.
