William Penn College repeated as Heart of America Athletic Conference champions with a 92-76 win over No. 22 Benedictine.
Hopkinsville High alum Q Cager had eight rebounds and dished out seven assists in the championship game. In its 102-79 semifinal win over Park, Cager scored a season-high 18 points and handed out four assists.
Cager earned second-team All-Conference honors after averaging 11 points and three rebounds during the season. He also had 82 assists and 25 steals while hitting 55-percent of his shots from the field.
William Penn, the No. 2 team in NAIA basketball, will advance to the NAIA National Tournament in Park City, Kansas next weekend. The Statesmen will play either Mid-American Christian or Holy Cross next Saturday.
