Wofford senior guard Tray Hollowell is looking to play a fifth season of college basketball at a new school.  Hollowell entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal Monday, according to the website verbalcommits.com.

The former University Heights Academy standout is averaged 11.1 points a game in starting every game for the Terriers while hitting 34.5-percent of his shots behind the arc. The 6-3 combo guard scored a career-high 22 points against Mercer on Jan. 30. Wofford’s season ended Saturday with a loss in the Southern Conference Tournament.

He averaged 7.7 and 1.9 rebounds per game as a junior, starting six games.

NCAA graduate transfer rules would allow Hollowell to transfer to a new school and play immediately in 2021-22 so long as he earns a bachelor’s degree from Wofford, which he is on the track to do. A student-athlete is given the fifth year as long as they complete classes at the new school.

Under the college transfer policy, when a student-athlete announces plans to transfer from a school, the school has two business days to enter that athlete’s name into the NCAA transfer portal. Once their name is in the database, other coaches from any school can contact that individual.
