Micah Smith worked his way up the golfing ladder at Christian County High School since beginning play in the seventh grade. On Wednesday, Smith moves to a new ladder as the Colonel senior signed to continue his athletic and academic career at Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro.
Smith was the lone senior on the Colonel squad in 2020. He finished 23rd at the region tournament the past season and had top-20 finishes at the Union County Invitational and the Christian County Invitational. He was consistently the first or second-leading scorer for the Colonels in 2020.
Kentucky Wesleyan has three seniors on its 2020-21 roster.
He is the third member of the Class of 2021 that attends high school in Christian County to make the leap to college. UHA’s Jiles Wyatt and Hopkinsville’s James Folz will both attend Centre College.
