Former Caldwell County Tiger Jase Felker is off to hot start at the plate for the Rend Lake College Warriors this season.
Felker was 3-for-5 with a double, a home run and three runs batted in during a 13-12 win over Lake Land College in the first game of a Wednesday doubleheader.
Felker was 1-for-3 with two walks and scored three times as Rend Lake took game two 18-13.
Through six games, Felker is hitting .500 with 11 base hits in 22 at-bats. He has three doubles, a homer, six runs batted in and has scored 10 runs this season for Rend Lake, which is 4-2. Felker has also recorded four stolen bases.
Another former Tiger at Rend Lake, Gabe East, has two appearances on the mound this college season.
He went three shutout innings against Olney Central in his first game on Saturday. However, East had issues with walks on Wednesday and was the losing pitcher as Rend Lake fell at Lake Land College 18-13.
Rend Lake is scheduled to host Lake Land for a pair of games on Saturday.
Felker and East were both big parts of Caldwell County’s 2nd Region championship baseball teams in 2016 and 2017.
Both also played in the Kentucky Prospects Summer Collegiate League last summer at Brooks Stadium in Paducah.
