Jaggers Now 5th, Branch 18th on Caldwell Scoring Lists

With postseason play beginning next week for Kentucky high school basketball teams, a pair of Caldwell County players will try to continue their climbs up their teams’ all-time scoring lists.

Senior Jacey Jaggers is now up to fifth all-time for the Lady Tigers.

Jaggers is averaging 15.8 points a game this season and has scored 284 points this year. That puts her at 1,431 for her career.

In fourth place on the Lady Tigers’ all-time scoring list is Melly Heaton with 1,481 points.

Meanwhile, senior Tripp Branch started the season 43rd on the Tigers’ career list but has climbed to 18th.

Branch is averaging 19.6 points per game this year and has scored 373 points. That puts him at 1,035 career points.

No. 17 on the Tigers’ all-time list is Elijah Sindelar with 1,089 points. Barry Fraliex is 16th at 1,091 while Denzil Holloway is 15th at 1,094.

Jaggers and Branch will likely need to claim semifinal wins in the 7th District tournament next week to continue to move up their respective lists.

Caldwell’s boys face Hopkins County Central in the district tourney Monday night.

Caldwell’s girls play Madisonville-North Hopkins on Thursday.

The 7th District tournaments will be played in Princeton.
