The Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches has announced their region award winners. The official announcement of the Region Players and Coaches of the year was made Friday morning.
In the 2nd Region, Webster County’s Destin Allen was named the Region Player of the Year. Allen led the Trojans in scoring at 17.1 points per game this season. Allen also led the team in rebounding with 7.5 rebounds per contest.
The Trojans head into the postseason as the top seed in the 6th District tournament and have already clinched a berth in the 2nd Region tournament.
Lyon County’s Ryan Perry was named the 2021 2nd Region Coach of the Year. Perry has led the Lyons to a 20-3 record. That includes winning the 2nd Region All A Classic championship. The Lyons have the top seed in the 5th District tournament.
In his two seasons at the helm of the Lyon County program, Perry has led the team to a 43-13 record.
