Three Hopkinsville wrestlers have advanced to semi-state action after third-place finishes Saturday in the regional wrestling tournament at Union County.
Trushaun Matt was third at 106 pounds. He went 3-1, including a 13-2 decision over Caldwell County’s Logan Brown in the third-place match.
Holden Schneider finished third at 113. He pinned Barrett Fulton of Ohio County in 24 seconds in the third-place match.
Ronald McGee took third place at 145 pounds. He pinned Caige Clark of Ohio County in 2:33 in the third-place match.
Christopher Medina placed fifth for Hoptown at 120.
Three Hopkinsville wrestlers had sixth-place finishes at the regional tournament — Caleb Shull at 152, Elliott Shull at 160 and Joseph Gray at 195.
Hopkinsville finished seventh in the team standings with 62.5 points.
