Former Caldwell County Tiger standout Bryce Thomas had a big day at the plate as Northern Kentucky University defeated Oakland 18-5 Sunday afternoon in Highland Heights.
Thomas slammed a three-run homer to left in the bottom of the fifth inning and finished the day 3-for-3 with the three RBIs and three runs scored in the contest.
Thomas has seen action at several positions for the Norse. He played shortstop in Sunday’s tilt.
After a slow start to the season offensively, Thomas is now hitting .238 with five runs batted in this season at NKU.
Northern Kentucky took three of four games against Oakland.
The Norse (5-10, 3-5 Horizon League) continue their homestand next weekend against Milwaukee. The first of a four-game series will begin on Friday at noon Eastern time. All four games will be streamed on ESPN+.
