It wasn’t like Kentucky coach Mark Stoops had to watch a lot of film to get excited about Nebraska transfer Wan’Dale Robinson and see just how talented he is.

“I think what’s been great for me to see is re-affirming my thoughts on him is that he’s a guy who is extremely dedicated also. He’s not only talented but very dedicated,” Stoops said Monday about UK’s new receiver.

“He works really hard. He’s committed to it. That excites me because you want that to spread to other guys. You always want to bring guys into the program that are going to affect people in a positive way.”

Robinson was a prolific playmaker at Western Hills High School in Frankfort and initially committed to UK before going to Nebraska for two years. Now he brings the same big-play potential to UK that the Kentucky coaches liked about him in high school.

“Just his movements and the way he explodes, you can see how fluid he is and you can feel his presence, the way he accelerates and puts pressure on a defense,” Stoops said. “That’s not hard to see.

“We’ll go through this spring and he’ll get better and better. You can watch his film and watch him on TV a year ago and see his talent and explosiveness but it’s also good to see the mindset he has and the commitment level that he has.”
