With tennis season kicking off in chilly conditions on Thursday, the UHA boys swept visiting Lyon County, taking 36 of the 38 sets played between singles and doubles.
The Blazers’ top seed, Ethan Alexander, knocked off Lyon County 7th-grader Aiden Bacheson 6-0, 6-0. Colin Calhoun won the only two sets of the day for the Lyons but fell 8-2 to UHA’s Shayan Kahn. Will Bryan is apparently good at a third sport, blanking Carter Bounds 8-0.
In doubles action, UHA seniors Zohaib Igbal and Riley Simmons overwhelmed Bacheson and Calhoun 8-0.
