Former Caldwell County Tiger Gabe East has announced that the next phase of his college baseball career will occur at Eastern Kentucky University.
“I’m excited and very blessed to announce that I am going to be continuing my academic and baseball career at Eastern Kentucky University. I want to thank my family and all of my coaches that have helped me along the way. GO COLONELS!” East posted on social media.
East was a key player on Caldwell’s 2nd Region championship teams in 2016 and 2017 and its All A Classic state runner-up squad in 2017.
He played last summer in the Kentucky Prospects Summer Collegiate League in Paducah.
East is playing this spring at Rend Lake College in Ina, Ill. This is his second year with the Warriors.
Eastern Kentucky University was a founding member of the Ohio Valley Conference. However, the school has announced that all 16 of its athletics teams will join the ASUN Conference on July 1, 2021.
