Christian County Scores Late to Take Scrimmage Against Todd Central

The Christian County Colonels and the Todd County Central Rebels are now both ready to get rolling in the 2021 high school baseball season following scrimmage action Wednesday afternoon in Elkton. The two teams played 8 innings Wednesday, with the Colonels scoring three in the top of the 8th to make the difference in a 5-2 win.

Christian County scored 2 runs in the top of the 3rd. Todd Central tied the game with two runs of their own in the bottom of the 5th.

Christian County scored their five runs on three hits. The Colonels were charged with three errors. Todd Central scored two runs on three hits, the Rebels committed 4 errors in the game.

The Colonels used a single and two bases-loaded walks to score the final three runs in the game in the 8th.

Brylle Javier, Robert Irving, and Chance Henderson combined to get the three hits on the afternoon for Christian County.

Preston Rager, Tanner Farmer, and Jameson Hunt led the way for the Rebels with one hit each.

Elijah Underhill had a solid afternoon on the mound for Christian County. He went 3 1/3-innings, giving up two runs, neither of them earned, on two hits. He struck out nine while walking four.

The Rebels used six pitchers on the day. Rebel hurlers would strike out 16 batters while walking 9.
