Jeff Doom has announced his retirement as Lyon County girls’ basketball coach after 12 seasons and 191 wins. Aaron Clayton of WCCK Radio reported Doom’s retirement on his social media Friday.
Doom was 191-152 as Lady Lyon basketball coach. Doom won three district championships and a pair of All A region titles. Lyon County advanced to the region tournament nine times in his 12 seasons as coach.
Lyon County won at least 10 games every season with Doom as coach and twice won at least 20 games.
Doom was also Lyon County boys’ basketball coach for five seasons and spent over 20 seasons as softball coach of the Lady Lyons. He stepped down as athletic director of the school in 2019.
