The Trigg County fishing team of Hunter Shelton and Jordan Hampton finished second Saturday at the Student Angler Federation Open Tournament in Missouri and have qualified for the championship later this year.
Shelton and Hampton hauled in five bass weighing 17 pounds. The winning team from Peoria, Illinois caught 17-pounds, 7-ounces. There were 90 teams that caught fish on Table Rock Lake in Branson, Missouri Saturday.
The Trigg County duo qualifies for the SAF National Championship in July on Lake Hartwell, South Carolina.
Shelton and Hampton’s boat captain is Gary Houha.
