Kaelyn Conger homered and pitched a three-hitter to help Lyon County win its 2021 softball season opener 11-1 over district rival Crittenden County Monday.
After Crittenden scored in the first inning, Conger smacked a two-run home run in the bottom of the first to give the Lady Lyons the lead for good.
Lyon added two more runs in the first on consecutive RBI doubles by Katelyn Dykes and Hadlie Butler.
Lilly Perry added a two-run single in the third to spark a seven-run inning. Sydney Melton capped the inning with a three-run homer to centerfield.
Butler finished with three hits at the plate for Lyon County. Lauren Davis and Gracen Wynn each had a pair of hits as part of the 13-hit Lyon offensive.
Ashlyn Hicks had two of Crittenden County’s three hits, including a triple. Matthia Long added a double.
In the circle, Conger struck out five and walked no one in giving up just one earned run.
Lyon County will travel to Webster County Tuesday, while the Lady Rockets will host Murray Tuesday.
