The Todd County Central Rebels only needed three innings on Thursday night to move to 3-0 this season with a 15-0 victory on the road at Caverna. The Rebels will ride their perfect start into a 4th Region All-A matchup with visiting Glasgow in Elkton on Friday.
Todd Central starter Will Kearns and Tanner Farmer were perfect on the mound, with Kearns striking out 3 over two innings of work and Farmer fanning two of the three batters he faced.
The Rebels took advantage of 11 2nd-inning walks, including 10-straight, to push 12 runs across. Jacob Brandon singled in the first run, followed by an RBI double by Austin Shadrick, the only hits of the inning.
Leading 12-0 in the top of the 3rd, Brandon picked up his second RBI of the night when he singled to left field. Brandon would come home on a wild pitch for the final run of the game.
The Rebels only needed 4 hits, with 2 for Brandon and one each for Shadrick and Preston Rager. Brandon and Shadrick drove in 2 each, with Farmer, Ethan Bicksler, Jase Hampton, and Grady Reding each picking up an RBI.
Caverna starter Dominic Grimes lasted only 1.2 innings, allowing 6 earned run on 2 hits with 5 walks. Isaiah Stone only recorded one out, giving up 6 earned runs with 7 walks and a strikeout. Caleb McClellen pitched the 3rd, yielding 3 earned runs on a pair of hits with 3 strikeouts.
