No. 11 Daviess County Roars Past Lyon County

Daviess County hit the Lyon County Lady Lyons with an early blow and then rolled on to a 9-4 win in the first game of the day of a busy day at Lee S. Jones Park. The No. 11 Lady Panthers scored four times in the top half of the first inning and never looked back.

Daviess County took advantage of a walk and a Lyon County error in the opening inning. The big blow of the inning came on a three-run home run from Jessie Daniels. The Lady Panthers added another run later in the inning on an RBI single from Raylee Robey.

Miller Roberts hit a solo shot in the top of the second inning to extend the lead to 5-0.

Lyon County got on the board in the bottom of the 4th when Kaelyn Conger scored on a Lady Panther error to make it 4-1.

Daviess County quickly put to rest any thoughts of a Lyon County comeback in the next inning. The Lady Panthers scored four times in the top of the 5th inning to run the lead out to 9-1. Daviess County strung together four straight singles to generate the four runs.

The Lady Lyons cut three runs off the lead in the bottom of the 7th, scoring on an error and a two-run blast from Sydney Melton.

Kaelyn Conger finished the game 3-4 at the plate with a run scored. Sydney Melton ended up 1-4 with a home run, 2 RBIs, and a run scored.

Kaelyn Conger went 6 2/3 in the circle, giving up 7 runs, six of them earned, on seven hits, striking out eight, while walking five.
