The University Heights Academy Blazers took advantage of nine Fort Campbell miscues in the field to pick up their second win of the season Friday afternoon on post. The Blazers used a nine-run 5th inning to carry them past the Falcons 18-7.
UHA scored in every inning of the six-inning win, except the 4th inning. The Blazers scored four runs in the first, two in the second, and one in the third.
Fort Campbell kept up early in the game, scoring three in the first, one in the second, and one more in the fourth to trail only 7-5 going into the top of the 5th inning.
The Blazers then broke things open in the top of the fifth. UHA used two singles, five walks, three hit batters, and one Falcon error to push nine runs across the plate and extend the lead to 16-5.
After the Falcons scored two in their half of the fifth, the Blazers scored two more runs in the top of the 6th to end the game with the ten-run rule at 18-7.
Ty Hunt led the Blazer attack going 3-4 with 4 RBIs and three runs scored. Seth Hancock finished 2-5 with a triple, two RBI’s, and four runs scored. The Blazers scored their 18 runs on just 8 hits.
Greysen Meyer was 2-4 with a double for the Falcons. Angel Garcia was 1-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Andrew Haughenberry finished 2-3, with an RBI and a run scored.
Jaden Miles picked up the win for UHA, going two and 2/3 inning, giving up two runs, none of them earned, striking out five, and walking just one.
Aidan Blaszkowski went four innings on the mound for the Falcons, giving up seven runs, just three of them earned, striking out one while walking four.
UHA improves to 2-2 with the win, while Fort Campbell falls to 0-3.
