Gunnar Bingham allowed two unearned runs on three base hits as Lyon County remained unbeaten on Friday.
The Lyon are 3-0 after turning back Caldwell County 12-2 in five innings at Jim Boyd Field in Eddyville.
Caldwell (1-1) took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
But Lyon, which honored its seniors after the game, scored in all five of its at-bats to end the game early on the 10-run mercy rule.
Bingham tossed all five innings for Lyon, striking out eight and walking two.
Meanwhile, Lyon’s offense backed Bingham with 14 base hits.
Aiden Rush was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and four runs batted in for Lyon. Travis Yancy also doubled twice while going 3-for-4 and driving in three.
Bingham and Brody Williams were both 2-for-3 at the plate while Jackson Shoulders was 2-for-4.
After falling behind early, Lyon tied things with two runs in the bottom of the first, then took the lead with four runs in the second.
A three-run fourth extended the margin to 10-2.
Lyon ended the game with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Caldwell got singles from Tate VanHooser, Deontaye Walls and Gabe Dyer.
