Lilly Strader is playing some of her best college soccer at the right time. The Murray State sophomore scored for the third time in two games to help the Racers to a 4-0 win over Eastern Illinois Tuesday at Cutchin Field.
Murray State wraps up its regular season with a 9-1 record and will host the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament next week as the league’s regular season champion.
Up 1-0 in the first half, Strader took a pass from Lauren Payne in the 13th minute and perfectly placed a left-footer in the goal from a tough angle. The University Heights Academy alum has scored four goals this year and three over the past two games.
Chloe Barnthouse notched the hat trick for the Racers, who concluded a second straight unbeaten regular season at home.
Murray State will host the semifinals next Thursday and will learn its opponent this week.
