Fort Campbell’s young swimming program made history Saturday with a fourth place finish at the Region I Swim Meet hosted by Hopkinsville High School.
The finish is the best for the Fort Campbell swim team at the region level.
Eugene Joo and Brody Sharp both had a pair of top-5 finishes in their events.

Eugene Joo – 5th in the 200-yard IM [2:22.46]; 5th in the 100-yard breaststroke [1:10.03]
Brody Sharp – 5th in the 50-yard free [25.49]; 5th in the 100-yard backstroke [1:10.71]
Brock Sharp – 6th in the 50-yard free [25.75]; 7th in the 100-yard free [1:02.23]
Jonah Weisbrich – 6th in the 100-yard free [1:01.18]; 7th in the 200-yard IM [2:23.58];
Holden Starz – 8th in the 50-yard free [28.12]; 9th in the 100-yard fly [1:17.49]
Grant Shrader – 9th in the 50-yard free [28.67]; 9th in the 100-yard breaststroke [1:24.13]
Gabriel Gorsuch – 12th in the 100-yard breaststroke [1:28.93]; 15th in the 100-yard free [1:09.53];
Tyler Keefe – 16th in the 100-yard free [1:12.37]
The 200-yard free relay team of Brock Sharp, Jonah Weisbrich, Eugene Joo, and Brody Sharp finished third in 1:45.42.
Murray won the boys’ team title with 368 points. Madisonville was second followed by McCracken County. Fort Campbell finished fourth with 184 points.
Hopkinsville was seventh with 47 points, and Christian County was eighth with 44 points.
Murray also won the combined team score with 797 points. Madisonville and McCracken County finished second and third respectively. Hopkinsville was fourth with 342.5. Fort Campbell was sixth with 276 points, and Christian County was ninth with 119 points.
The region meet was held without fans or the media per KHSAA attendance regulations due to COVID-19.
