Hopkinsville senior Ella Falco, who earned the region’s outstanding swimmer award Saturday, will continue her swimming career at Birmingham-Southern College.
Falco won region titles in both the 100 and 200-yard freestyle Saturday and was a member of the region champion 200-yard free relay team. She will conclude her high school career later this month at the state swim meet.
Falco finished second in the 200-yard free in the two seasons previous and has eight first or second-place finishes at the regional level in her four high school seasons.
Birmingham-Southern is a private liberal arts college that competes at the NCAA Division III level. The Panthers are a member of the Southern Athletic Association and won its fifth consecutive conference championship in February.
