Allie Felker had a grand slam and was 4-for-4 at the plate with five RBIs while Ilyssa Stallins and Addie Cagle combined on a four-inning no-hitter to advance Caldwell County in the 2nd Region All A Classic softball tournament.
The Lady Tigers (2-3) routed Fort Campbell 15-0 in four innings at the Ratliff Park Complex in Princeton to earn a berth in Tuesday’s semifinals, which will now be played at Lyon County.
Caldwell will take on Livingston Central in the first semifinal at 5:30 in Eddyville. The Lady Cardinals drew a first-round bye.
Felker just missed hitting for the cycle in the contest, finishing with two singles, a triple and the home run. She also scored a pair of runs.
Meanwhile, Stallins pitched into the fourth inning, striking out four and walking one. Cagle came in to get the final two outs, recording a strikeout in the process.
Caldwell has never lost to Fort Campbell on the softball diamond in seven meetings.
The Lady Tigers used an 11-hit offensive attack on Monday. A.J. Hollowell was 2-for-2 and drove in two while Stallins and Shelby Lane each had doubles.
Felker singled home a run in the bottom of the first to give Caldwell an early 1-0 lead.
She then highlighted an eight-run second inning by driving a 1-1 pitch over the fence in left-center for a grand slam. Felker’s blast made it 7-0, and Caldwell would push the margin to 9-0 at the end of the inning.
Lane had an RBI double in the third to help extend the lead to 11-0.
The Lady Tigers added four runs in the fourth to reach the mercy rule at 15-0.
Fort Campbell is now 0-5 on the season.
Caldwell’s only All A Classic regional championship came in the 2018 season.
