Clinging to a 1-run lead in the top of the 6th with Lyon County poised to surge in front, the UHA Blazers needed a big play to end the Lyons’ threat in Monday’s All-A semifinal meeting in Hopkinsville.
With Lyon runners at 2nd and 3rd, a groundball to Blazers’ shortstop Seth Hancock set things in motion. Hancock’s heads-up play caught Lyon County’s Travis Yancy between 3rd and home, setting up a meeting at the plate between Yancy and UHA catcher Eston Glover.
