While their search for a new head coach is apparently winding down, officials at Christian County High School have released the 2021 football schedule. The schedule will have the Colonels at the Stadium of Champions just four times during the season, and on the road for six games.
The Colonels, who have won one game over the past two seasons, are set to open the season Friday, August 20, in Princeton, as they take on the Caldwell County Tigers. The Colonels will have two preseason scrimmages, which have not been set at this time. The second scrimmage will take place at Austin Peay.
Outside of their three district games against Greenwood, South Warren, and Bowling Green, the Colonels will take on Caldwell County, Logan County, Henderson County, Madisonville-North Hopkins, Hopkinsville, Murray, and McCracken County.
The regular season schedule looks like this:
August 20 – at Caldwell County
August 27 – vs Logan County (Jerry Claiborne Bowl)
September 3 – at Henderson County
September 10 – vs Madisonville-North Hopkins
September 17 – vs Hopkinsville
September 24 – at Murray
October 1 – at Greenwood (District game)
October 8 – BYE
October 15 – vs South Warren (District game)
October 22 – at Bowling Green (District game)
October 29 – at McCracken County
With only four teams in the district, Christian County is guaranteed a slot in the Kentucky Class 5A football playoffs, which would begin November 5.
