
Lyon County made quick work of University Heights Academy in Tuesday’s 2nd Region All A Classic softball semifinal.
Playing at home, the Lady Lyons rolled to a 22-0 victory in three innings to advance to Thursday’s championship game.
Next up is Caldwell County, which defeated Livingston Central 5-2 in Tuesday’s first semifinal contest in Eddyville.
Lyon used 12 base hits, 11 walks and nine hit batters to record its 22 runs.
Calista Collins was 3-for-4 with a triple and three runs batted in for the Lady Lyons while Kaelyn Conger went 2-for-2 and knocked in three.
Lauren Davis, Katelyn Dykes and Tori Schenk also had two hits apiece for Lyon.
The Lady Lyons scored three times in the first inning, 11 times in the second and eight in the third to total its 22 runs.
Meanwhile, Schenk and Lilly Perry combined to no-hit the Lady Blazers. Perry tossed the last two innings to earn the win, striking out five and walking one.
