Helped by six first-place finishes, the Trigg County track and field team opened its 2021 season with a second-place finish in a three-team meet Tuesday at Crittenden County.
Trigg’s 131 points were behind Crittenden County (203) and ahead of Livingston Central (103).

Ryan Simpson – 1st in the 400-meter dash (55.48); 2nd in the 200-meter dash (24.80)
Riley Thompson – 1st in the 3200-meter run (13:05); 3rd in the 1600-meter run (5:40); 3rd in the 800-meter run (2:31)
Joseph Crawford – 1st in the long jump (16-07)
Kelsey Parham – 3rd in the 100-meter dash (12.33)
Mac Alexander – 3rd in the discus throw (65-00); 7th in the shot put (21-08)
Ethan Over – 4th in the 400-meter dash (1:10)
The 3200-meter relay team finished second in 9:30.69.
The 1600-meter relay team finished second in 3:58.
The 400-meter relay team also finished second in 50.03.
