
Caldwell County’s girls avenged a loss on the tennis courts at Hopkins County Central earlier this season by picking up a 4-3 victory over the Lady Storm Friday in Princeton.
The Lady Tigers took three of five singles matches and split a pair of doubles matches with Hopkins Central.
In singles action, Caldwell’s Rachel McClung defeated Natalie Richey 6-4, 6-0; Josie Shaffer lost to Chloe Mackey 8-4; Keegan Miller beat Chloe Metcalfe 8-3; Emma Peake fell to Katherine Keown 8-1; and Avery Ritchey blanked Rachel Williams 8-0.
In doubles, McClung and Miller fell to Richey and Mackey 6-4, 6-4; while Shaffer and Ritchey beat Keown and Williams 8-1.
It’s the first victory of the season for the Lady Tigers.
Caldwell County’s tennis teams are scheduled to host Henderson County on Monday.
