Hancock County scored 11 runs in the final two innings to beat University Heights Academy 17-7 Friday in Hawesville.
The Blazers led 7-6 after four innings until Hancock got seven of its 12 hits in the fifth and sixth innings.
UHA scored five times in the third inning thanks to two hits, three hit batters, and four walks.
The Blazers managed just four hits in the game – all singles. Luke Welch had two of the hits. Hancock pitchers handed out 10 walks and hit four batters.
Eston Glover struck out four in five innings and issued only three walks. However, six of the runs he allowed were unearned runs as the Blazer defense made five errors.
Austin Volocko had three hits for Hancock County, who improved to 6-5.
UHA fell to 5-7 and will play Franklin-Simpson Saturday at the Kelly Russell Classic in Russellville.
