Twice coming from behind, the UHA Lady Blazers cranked out 19 hits and had 9 players drive in a run on the way to a 19-16 victory over visiting Christian Fellowship on Friday.

The Lady Eagles entered the contest with a 3-2 record, while the Lady Blazers earn their second win in three tries to even their record at 2-2.

After Christian Fellowship put up 3 1st-inning runs, UHA answered with 4 to take an early lead.  Jaila Batey drove in a pair of runs with a triple and Sloan Hampton added an RBI single.

Christian Fellowship turned 5 walks and a UHA error into 5 runs in the top of the 2nd.  Regan Pollard followed a Mallory Ladd RBI single with a triple to drive in a run, followed by a run-scoring single by Batey, and an RBI double by Breanna Daniels.

The Lady Blazers found themselves trailing 10-8 after three frames before what would be the game’s decisive at-bat.  Krista Keller drove in 2 runs with a double and Pollard singled to put UHA up for good.  Batey hit her second triple of the game and Hampton singled in a run for a 14-10 advantage.

Three runs in the top of the 5th pulled the Lady Eagles to within a 1, but Daniels doubled in a run and Hampton added her third RBI of the night to stretch the UHA lead back to 4.

Once again only leading by a run, a 2-out rally in the bottom of the 6th gave the Lady Blazers some breathing room.  Pollard joined Batey with her second triple of the game to score a run and Trinity Luke came through with an RBI single for a 19-15 score.

Ladd went the distance on the mound for UHA to get the win.  She walked the first batter she saw in the 7th, one of 14 on the night, before back-to-back singles got the Lady Eagles within 3 with runners on 1st and 3rd.  Ladd struck out 8, but got the final two outs on a grounder and a pop fly to end the threat.

UHA outhit the Lady Eagles 19-12 and committed only a single error to Christian Fellowship’s 3.

Pollard had 4 hits and 3 RBI, Batey was 3/3 for 4 RBI, and Daniels hit safely twice with 4 runs driven in.  Luke had 2 hits and an RBI, Hampton was 2/4 with 3 RBI, Keller drove in 2 with a hit, and Ladd was 2/4 with an RBI.
