No. 12-ranked Henderson County Handles Caldwell County

No. 12-ranked Henderson County scored 10 times in the top of the first inning and went on to defeat Caldwell County 22-8 in five innings in Princeton.

Henderson (8-1) led 15-0 in the third inning before the Lady Tigers broke through for four runs to extend the contest.

Majah Hollowell had a two-run home run to center to get Caldwell on the scoreboard.

But the Lady Tigers could get no closer as Henderson finished the game in five innings on the 10-run mercy rule.

For Henderson, JaMaya Byrum had a huge day at the plate. The sophomore finished 5-for-5 and hit for the cycle with two home runs. She drove in seven runs in the contest.

Kaytlan Kemp was 4-for-5 and scored four times for the Lady Colonels, who banged out 23 base hits in the contest.

For Caldwell, A.J. Hollowell was 3-for-3 with a double and kncoked in two runs. Harper Holeman was 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI. Alicia Stanley went 2-for-3 and scored twice.

The Lady Tigers, now 3-5, will play at home again on Monday against Graves County.
