Former Caldwell County standout Madi Choate slugged her first college home run on Saturday.
Choate scored a pair of runs to help Asbury University take the first game of a softball doubleheader against Midway 3-2 in 13 innings.
Choate scored on a sacrifice fly in the first inning.
She then tied the game in the bottom of the fifth inning with a solo homer to centerfield.
Choate finished the game 2-for-4 with a walk and the one run batted in.
Midway came back to take game two 4-1.
Asbury is now 15-21 on the season and 7-7 in conference play.
The Eagles next host IU Southeast on Tuesday for a doubleheader.
