It was a tough day for the Caldwell County baseball team at Dawson Springs on Tuesday.
The Tigers saw a 6-1 lead slip away late, as the Panthers scored six times over the final three innings to claim a 7-6 victory.
Two runs in the bottom of the seventh allowed Dawson to walk off with the victory.
Down 6-5 going to its final at-bat, Dawson loaded the bases on an error, a single and a walk.
A strikeout was the first out of the inning. Caldwell then got a ground ball on the infield from the next batter, but a throwing error to home allowed both the tying and winning runs to cross the plate and end the game.
A five-run fourth inning had given the Tigers their 6-1 advantage.
But Dawson countered with three runs in the fifth, one in the sixth and then the two in the seventh.
Caldwell had won 32 straight games in the series dating back to 2003.
Dylan Dawson was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Panthers while also going to the distance on the mound to pick up the win. He allowed two earned runs on six base hits while striking out 12 and walking five.
Caldwell has dropped three straight games overall and is now 3-6 this season and 1-1 in district play.
Dawson picked up its first win of the season and is now 1-3 and 1-0.
The Tigers and the Panthers will hook up again on Thursday, this time at the VFW Ballpark in Princeton.
