For the first time in 2021, Emma Talley will play the weekend on the LPGA Tour.
The Caldwell County native shot a 2-under-par 69 on Thursday in the second round of the HUGEL-Air Premia LA Open to climb into a tie for 63rd place.
After a 3-over 74 in the first round on Wednesday, Talley is at 1-over through 36 holes. Everyone 2-over or better made the cut for the third and fourth rounds on Friday and Saturday.
Talley will tee off in the third round at 11:24 a.m. Central time.
The former Caldwell County High School standout and University of Alabama star had a clean card on Thursday, recording two birdies and 16 pars. She birdied the par-3 4th hole on the front and the par-3 12th on the back nine.
Talley had missed the cut in her first five events this season on LPGA Tour while battling a swing change.
Six-time LPGA Tour champion Jessica Korda leads the way at 13-under overall, but Rolex Rankings Nos. 1 and 3, Jin Young Ko and Sei Young Kim, are lurking heading into the final two rounds at Wilshire Country Club. Ko is solo second at 10-under for the tournament, while Kim sits third at 9-under.
