Falco, Hoptown Swimmers Close Season at State Meet

Ella Falco closed out her high school swim career with a pair of top-20 finishes at the KHSAA State Swimming Tournament Saturday.

The state tournament was held at three different locations.  Hoptown and other schools in regions one, two, and three swam at Russell County High School. No spectators or media were allowed to attend.

Falco, who has committed to Birmingham-Southern College, finished 17th in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:57.36.  Mackenzie Lanning of Sacred Heart won the race in 1:49.89.

The Hopkinsville senior also came in 18th place in the 100-yard freestyle in 54.52. Ella Welch of Assumption won the race in a state record time of 48.85.

Sophomore Elizabeth Langhi finished 34th in the 200-yard IM in 2:21.44. Annabel Crush of Sacred Heart was the race winner in 1:59.26.

Langhi also ran the 50-yard freestyle and finished 37th in 26.30. Ella Welch of Assumption won the race in 22.63.

Sophomore Riley Robinson finished 36th in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:14.81. Lainy Kruger of Notre Dame won the race in 1:01.85.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Langhi, Falco, Robinson, and Livie Jorgensen finished 31st in a time of 2:02.80.  Sacred Heart won the race in 1:45.70.

The same foursome finished 32nd in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:49. Sacred Heart also won that relay in 1:34.24.
