He’s not listed in the mock drafts but nose guard Quinton Bohanna says he has had a “lot of positive feedback” from various NFL teams going into the NFL Draft that starts Thursday.
“I have heard a lot of good things and things they say I need to improve on, I already knew that,” the UK defensive lineman said. “I am just enjoying the process and looking forward to what is going next.”
Bohanna says teams know the type of player he is and he feels is the type of player teams want in the middle of the defensive line.
“I have dropped about 15 pounds since the season ended. This is where I have been for a minute (time),” he said. “After our bowl game, I was like 332 (pounds) and still felt good. I liked how I felt after dropping the weight. I feel good and I am moving good.”
He hoped his Pro Day workout showed his change of direction and the “athletic side” of him instead of just what teams see on tape.
“I am a big guy who can move real good,” he said. “I love this. There’s no pressure on me. This is what I have been doing since I was 4. I love it.”
He said there’s no one team he feels has shown more specific interest than anyone else and teams understand he can do multiple things depending on the defensive from they run.
He doesn’t care what team picks him or even signs him as an undrafted free agent.
“I am just a football fan. It’s hard growing up as a kid saying my favorite spot is nose guard. We are not too flashy,” he said. “But I still feel like I always have. I am supposed to be here. I dreamed about playing in the NFL. It probably won’t really hit me until I am officially part of this team or organization, but I am ready.”
