The combination of Preston Chaudoin and Logan Durst held visiting UHA to only a single hit over both games of Tuesday night’s doubleheader, with the Tigers winning the first 5-0 and the second 13-0 as Durst threw a 5-inning no-hitter.

Chaudoin and UHA’s Luke Welch faced off on the mound in the first game, with the Tigers getting on the board in the bottom of the 1st when Ryan Myers came home on a wild pitch.

Chaudoin rolled through the first three frames with the only Blazer runner reaching on an error.  Hoptown added a pair of runs in the 3rd, including an RBI single by Durst.

Ryan Myers and Blake Balthrop had RBI singles in the 5th to stretch the advantage to 5-0.  The Blazers finally got their first hit of the game when Eston Glover led off the top of the 7th with a single.

Chaudoin struck out 13 and walked 1 to pick up his third win of the season.

Welch took the loss, working 7 innings and allowing 5 earned runs on 7 hits with a pair of walks and 6 strikeouts.

In the second game, the only thing between Durst and a perfect 5 innings was a hit by pitch, while he struck out 8.  Leading 1-0 in the top of the 2nd, Zach Moss scored on an error and Tim Cansler came home on a wild pitch after reaching on a single earlier in the inning.  Myers made it 4-0 when his ground-out scored Joseph Boor.

UHA starter Tanner Stevenson yielded another run in the 3rd on a wild pitch and gave way to Nik Luckey after walking the first two Tiger batters in the top of the 4th.  Stevenson surrendered 6 runs, 5 earned, on 5 hits with 6 walks and 3 strikeouts.

Seven runs in their half of the 5th put the game away for the Tigers.  Chaudoin singled with the bases loaded and Landon Snyder tripled to left field to drive in 3.  Cansler brought in the final run with a double.

The Tigers win their third-straight to improve to 9-2 with a trip to Warren East coming up on Thursday.

UHA slips to 5-11 and will be back in action on Wednesday when they entertain West Creek, TN.
